Rachel Fitzpatrick hand crafts the most wonderfully whimsical chandeliers from velcro that bring joy to any room.
Using heavy-duty industrial textiles, fabrics and materials, Northern Irish artist and designer Rachel Fitzpatrick creates playful one-off and limited edition chandeliers.
Rachel works at the interface between art and design using a variety of tactile materials to create wonderfully amorphous decorative lighting, wall and floor coverings, body adornment or children’s toys.
In keeping with the deep-rooted crafts heritage of a rural Northern Irish society Rachel loves working with her hands. She takes inspiration from both the sea and the rural landscapes of Northern Ireland.
Rachel cites that she loves, "the challenge of transforming heavy-duty industrial textiles and fabrics into magically beautiful commissioned works of art or affordable design products." She loves to experiment and explore the boundaries of the material and the finishes that can be created.
