Orders, Payments and Pricing
AUTHOR prices are quoted in sterling and include VAT at 20%.
Prices are exclusive of delivery charges, duties and/or export taxes.
Prices may be subject to change without notice and at the discretion of AUTHOR.
AUTHOR’s preferred method of payment is through the website platform.
Lead times and estimated delivery date/s will be advised subsequent to ordering.
For bespoke, custom and personalised pieces AUTHOR’s office will contact you directly to confirm order specifics and details.
AUTHOR holds stock of certain pieces ready to deliver, but also works with small independent manufacturers resulting in possible lead times for other pieces. AUTHOR makes every effort to inform you of current lead times and will also make every effort to obtain the chosen piece as quickly as possible.
No minimum order quantity is required.
AUTHOR reserves the right to discontinue items without notice.
If in the unlikely event we are unable to supply your order we will notify you in writing or by email and refund according to our refund policy.
AUTHOR products are often handmade and mostly to order, which means that items can take up to 12 weeks to complete your order depending on the item and also where it is to be delivered. We will keep you fully informed by email/phone as to the progress of your order throughout the manufacturing process. AUTHOR always endeavours to deliver as quickly as possible, but asks you to appreciate the logistics involved; if different pieces are coming from different suppliers there may be differing lead times and delivery costs related to individual pieces. We aim to be as efficient (both timewise and financially) as possible with delivery scheduling and will communicate with you to work through the optimum delivery outcome; we may be able to dispatch some items from an order immediately with others to follow, or could request a faster turnaround from our suppliers. Delivery Price Guide
|Small or light product ( or order prices £80 or under)

|A fee will be incurred depending on your location and the size and weight of the piece|
Orders under £80 will have a delivery cost of £7. We provide free delivery for standard orders over £80*.
*Delicate and non-standard pieces will require a specialised delivery service to reach you in perfect condition. This will incur a delivery fee depending on your location and the weight/dimensions of the piece. If you are unsure whether the piece you have selected incurs a delivery fee, please refer to the delivery section on the item’s specific product page. Next day delivery is possible on certain items; please contact the AUTHOR office.
We deliver using a variety of logistics partners depending on the size of the item and destination.
If you have any special requests regarding your delivery we will always try to help as best we can, but this may be subject to additional costs, please contact us to discuss on email@example.com.
If you choose to arrange shipping with your own couriers, AUTHOR will take no responsibility for damages incurred in transit when using your own shippers. A signature from your chosen courier on collection confirms that they are receiving your order in good condition, and that boxes have been labelled in accordance with their specifications. Your shippers should provide you with the necessary insurance to cover your order.
On receiving goods, AUTHOR requests customers to open packaging carefully, and check contents for damage prior to signing/accepting delivery, this allows any issues that may have been caused during transport to be addressed sooner rather than later.
Cancellations, Damages and Returns
If you need to cancel an order once it has been processed, please contact AUTHOR, and we can work out the best way forward. Unfortunately, bespoke and customised pieces cannot be cancelled without incurring a charge; please contact AUTHOR for further advice. Orders cancelled once manufacture is under way, will only be accepted at AUTHOR’s sole discretion.
AUTHOR hopes you will be delighted with your order when it arrives, but in the event of an issue arising or if you need to return something to us please contact us as soon as possible after receiving your piece. Please do not automatically send your purchase back to the manufacturer nor to AUTHOR’s head office, but instead please contact AUTHOR on firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss the issue.
In the event of receiving damaged or missing goods, AUTHOR will endeavour to rectify the situation as promptly as possible. All damages must be notified within 48 hours of receipt of goods. You can do this by phone or email. Please take photographs of the damaged item and email them to us detailing the issue on email@example.com.
AUTHOR shall provide a return slip and address for the item to be returned to; please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further details. Unfortunately, for items that are returned as unsuitable or you have just changed your mind, the cost of return delivery will be deducted from your refund. Where goods are accepted for return, it is your responsibility to ensure that they are received back in perfect condition and in its original packaging (so please be careful when opening your parcels).
If your goods have not arrived after a week from receiving tracking information from us, you must notify us immediately so we can try to rectify the situation to the best of our ability.
Once your return is received and inspected, we will contact you to advise you of the next steps and work out with you the best way to proceed with the refund.
There are certain situations where we cannot grant a 100% refund; for example, any item not in its original condition, if it is damaged or has missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or if you have the items for longer than 30 days.
In the event of there being any conflict between the terms of this overview and our detailed terms and conditions, the terms of our detailed terms and conditions shall prevail.
