Based in his workshop in Witney, Oxfordshire, designer Roger Nathan creates and produces mind-bending marquetry tables.
Based in his workshop in Witney, Oxfordshire, Roger Nathan illustrates beautiful mathematics on his hypnotic marquetry tables.
Roger Nathan was born in Auckland, New Zealand and he has resided in England for more than twenty years. He has worked as a research scientist at University of Oxford with projects in archaeological science, geography, psychiatry and radiotherapy.
Several years ago, he began making kinetic sculptures and three dimensional puzzles. More recently, he has been crafting marquetry tables that illustrate simple mathematical functions. All components of the tables, including the metal bases, are handmade in his workshop in Witney, Oxfordshire.
We are absolutely captivated by Roger Nathan's unique and unforgettable table designs. The incorporation of geometric & algorithmic patterns in his work make for a set of furniture that is sure to be the talking point of any contemporary living space they are added to.
At AUTHOR we are passionate about working with British based creators & designers and Roger Nathan is no exception. We are proud to be adding his work to our range of bespoke furniture and can't wait to see what he creates next.
