Jane Adams, AUTHOR’s owner and Creative Director, has fifteen years’ experience with private interior design clients including commissioning special pieces for their homes. She is a fervent supporter and champion of British design talent, and it's this passion, combined with her strongly held values of transparency, honesty and ethical production that is the very essence of AUTHOR Interiors and of the AUTHOR’s Own range.

We have commissioned pieces in partnership with some of our favourite ceramicists, cabinet makers, glassblowers and sculptors both locally to us in Scotland and across the UK.
Abraham Moon Ltd in Leeds is one of the last remaining vertical woollen mills in Great Britain, and we have commissioned from the mill some wonderful Alpaca throws in contemporary colours as well as Mohair throws. We have also worked with Charlotte James Ltd in Edinburgh to create beautiful chairs with bespoke upholstery combinations in the finest leathers and fabrics, plus many other fascinating and highly skilled artisans and craftswomen and men throughout the UK.

With the AUTHOR’s Own range we also have the opportunity to explore new processes and techniques, applying them to interior pieces in new ways. The learning process is all part of the fun, and we enjoy the various stages of evolution before an idea comes to life as a fantastic new piece for our collection.

Author's Choice

We work with talented artists and craftspeople to create unique pieces, usually as a response to not being able to locate a similar item available anywhere else. When we are unable to find the perfect chair, cushion, throw, table or anything else for that matter, we undertake to create our own. As with everything in the AUTHOR collections, these beautifully hand-crafted pieces are items are made with stylish spaces and contemporary lifestyles in mind. They are very much pieces that we ourselves use and love, and are part of the cohesive AUTHOR style.
