Elvis & Kresse

Since 2005, Elvis & Kresse have been reclaiming and rescuing unique materials from landfill and turning them into beautiful fashion and homeware accessories in their Kent workshop. It was a chance encounter with the London Fire Brigade that co-owners Kresse Wesling and James (Elvis) Henrit discovered that decommissioned firehose cannot be recycled due to what it is made from. Distressed by this discovery, Elvis & Kresse was then founded in order to rescue the decommissioned firehose and save it from landfill. For over a decade, 200 tons of firehose has been reclaimed and none has ended up in landfill. 50% of the profits made from the company's firehose range has also been donated to the Fire Fighters Charity.

Elvis & Kresse started with reclaimed firehoses but now work with over 10 different reclaimed materials. Through various initiatives with different brands and unique materials, the business has donated a portion of its profits to a variety of charities such as Comic Relief, Help for Heroes, WWF and British Forces Foundation.

In 2017, Elvis & Kresse partnered with the Burberry Foundation in order to tackle the problem of leather waste in the fashion industry. This 5-year partnership will see at least 120 tonnes of Burberry's leather offcuts being repurposed and crafted into new luxury items by Elvis & Kresse such as footrests, doorstops and rugs.
